The better question would be, "Can you kill yourself with vape juice?" Well, sure. You can kill yourself with a soup spoon, too. If you do not use things the way they are intended to be used, yes, you can injure or kill yourself. This also applies to vape juice. If you drink an entire 100ml bottle of high-nicotine vape juice and are able to keep it down, you'll definitely become sick and you may die. Why would anyone do that?
The conflation and confusion here relate to people dying of lung injuries caused by vaping TAINTED vape juice. Basically, these cases all involve people vaping BLACK MARKET THC vape cartridges. The danger in these cartridges is actually not the THC. The black market manufacturers used Vitamin E Acetate to "cut" the vape juice. Vitamin E Acetate is NOT to be inhaled because it coats your lungs and prevents oxygen absorption.
Make sure you buy branded vape juice from reputable manufacturers and retailers. Make sure you educate yourself before vaping. Make sure you use the proper hardware, including safe batteries and devices. If you must vape THC or other non-nicotine substances, make sure to do your research and check the bottles or cartridges to make sure they are not tampered with.
Personally, I suggest you find another way to ingest your THC, if you must. I would bet that most health professionals recommend ingesting through edibles over vaping or smoking the substances.
So, is vape juice safe? Sure, as long as you vape it safely. Water is safe, right? Can water kill you? Of course. If you unsafely submerge yourself and inhale water into your lungs you will drown. Does that mean water is unsafe? Does it mean that water can kill you? No. You can kill yourself using water.
The best way for us to fight Big Tobacco's campaign to destroy the vaping industry and get people back to smoking and dying is for us to educate ourselves and spread the truth. The growth of vaping popularity has been directly responsible for the decline in smoking (and smoking deaths). The vaping industry threatens Big Tobacco profits. Big Tobacco does not care about you or human health in general. They care about profits. Don't believe their hype.
Vaping saves lives when people switch from smoking to vaping. That is a fact that even billions of dollars from Big Tobacco can not dispute. Vaping can not kill you when done properly. Smoking CAN kill you, even when done as intended.
